A new game, a restock and more coming

It is a quiet week here at Meeples’ Corner. But today we have received two deliveries, so there is something to write about.

High Rise and the extra bits

The first delivery was of High Rise, the Kickstarter edition of the latest Gil Hova game. The game comes with two expansions, the Fancy Bits and Extra Tenants.

The second delivery was the long-awaited restock of Isle of Cats and the Late Arrival expansion. Both are back, but stock is going fast so please don’t wait too long if you are interested.

But that’s not all, we have also received two updates regarding two further restocks:

  • Gloomhaven: our supplier has told us that the newest reprint will arrive at his warehouse later this week and we should get our stock early next week.
  • Maracaibo: the next print run is on the way to the warehouse in Germany where it is expected to arrive in two weeks. We should get our new stock early July

New Gloomhaven game and an Azul expansion

Here are two interesting news, I’ve just picked up:

Cephalofair Games will release Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion, a Gloomhaven campaign at lower price point for casual gamers, into trade in Q3 of 2020.
The Jaws of the Lion campaign is set prior to the original Gloomhaven, and it follows a group of mercenaries as they investigate unexplained disappearances in the city. This game offers the Gloomhaven experience at a lower price point and without the cardboard map tiles. Instead, players will simply play the game on the scenario book itself, which has artwork unique to each scenario. Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion also makes the game easier to learn by coming with a simplified rules set and a five-scenario tutorial.

Next Move Games will release Azul: Crystal Mosaic, an expansion for Azul, into trade in April 2020.
Azul: Crystal Mosiac comes with new double-sided boards that allow for new strategies for players to discover as well as a set of overlays for player boards. The new expansion enhances gameplay experience with a more organized look, and the player board overlays keep tiles from accidentally getting bumped out of place.

Next week’s new releases are online (01/02/19)

We have just uploaded the new releases for next week:

But that is not all, we are also expecting three amazing restocks:

Updates for Root and Gloomhaven

After all those delays before Christmas, we have finally received some good news regarding the reprints of Root and Gloomhaven: Both are on the way to the UK.

Root is slightly in the lead and is expected to arrive on the 14th or 15th January. And even better: the Riverfolk expansion will arrive in the same delivery.

Gloomhaven is also on the ship to the UK and should arrive here at the end of January and should be available from us  at the beginning of February. At the moment we can’t accept any new orders for Gloomhaven, but we will post an update regarding the stock we will receive as soon as we have the confirmation from our supplier(s).

Release date updates

We have done a bit of research today to look which games will be available before Christmas. So far we have no new details about pre-Christmas releases, but we unfortunately found a few games that definitely won’t make it before Christmas:

  • Reykholt
  • Aeon’s End Legacy
  • Unlock! Exotic Adventures
  • Victorian Masterminds
  • Duelosaur Island
  • Dinosaur Island Expansion

All these games are now pushed back to January.

We also got an update regarding the Gloomhaven reprint and it doesn’t sound good: it also has been moved back (again) and now will arrive in the UK in January.

I’m very sorry for these constant delays. Hopefully we will have better news soon!

Gloomhaven Delay

The newest reprint of Gloomhaven was expected to arrive at distributors and retailers sometime in November/December. Now it looks more like it will closer to the end of this time span: there has been a production delay and the stock is expected to arrive in the UK in late December.

With a bit more than three weeks until Christmas this puts the availability of the game before Christmas at risk. But we will post an update as soon as we hear anything new.
