Blackout: Misprinted cards

The second edition of Blackout has been released a few weeks ago and while Plan B updated some of the artwork, this came apparently with a price. Five cards in the new edition are misprinted:

Dear Blackout fans,
It has been brought to our attention that 5 cards in the latest edition of Blackout were misprinted.
We sincerely apologize for this error and would like to inform you that we are taking all possible measures to replace these cards as promptly as we can.

Top 5 November 2018

I don’t have much time to comment on the bestsellers of last month, but at least I wanted to give you the chance to have a look at them.

Top 5 Sales

1) Underwater Cities
2) Everdell
3) El Dorado: Heroes & Hexes
4) Architects of the West Kingdom
5) Crown of Emara

Top 5 Pre-orders

1) Blackout: Hong Kong

Top 5 October

Another month has gone, time to have a look at the bestsellers of October.

The Top 5 in Sales are:

  1. Chronicles of Crime
  2. Gizmos
  3. Great Western Trail: Rails to the North (German Edition)
  4. Welcome To ….
  5. Altiplano: the Traveller

Chronicles of Crime is the first Murder Mystery game that uses Virtual Reality to let the players visit the game locations. Gizmos continues the good run of Phil Walker-Harding, who with Gingerbread House has  another new game out at the moment. Great Western Trail: Rails to the North is in the Top 5 for the second month in a row. Altiplano: the Traveller is the first expansion for the bag building game Altiplano.

Top 5 in Pre-Orders:

  1. Root: Riverfolk Expansion
  2. Root
  3. A Feast for Odin: The Norwegians
  4. Reykholt
  5. Key Flow

Root and the Riverfolk expansion have dominated the pre-orders in October. The first edition of Root sold out quickly, but the reprint is supposed to arrive in January/February together with the expansion. A Feast for Odin is a very popular game, so it’s no surprise that the expansion has made it into our Top 5. Reykholt is the new game by Uwe Rosenberg and as all his games, gamers seem to like them all.  Key Flow is a new card driven game based on the Keyflower.

What was released this week?

Here is a quick look at what has arrived since we came back from Tabletop Gaming Live:

The week ahead

We are back from the Tabletop Gaming Live show in London. Today’s tasks are:

  • unloading the van
  • put the remaining stock back in our storeroom and update the online stock
  • sort through the bookkeeping for the weekend

Once all this is done we will activate the checkout for the online shop again.

Tomorrow we will get our usual delivery of new UK releases. This week it is a big one including the following games and expansions:

  • Welcome To Your Perfect Home
  • Renegade Booster Pack: Fire & Chaos
  • The Lady and the Tiger
  • Heroes of the Pacific
  • Heroes of the Nam
  • Heroes of the Motherland
  • Day of Heroes
  • Cryptid
  • The Lost Expedition: Fountain of Youth and Other Adventures
  • Coimbra
  • Reef
  • Dinosaur Tea Party
  • Brass Birmingham

Some of these games are not online yet, but we will try our best to add them to the website tomorrow morning before the delivery arrives. Once the delivery has arrived, we will check everything and start sending out the payment requests for all pre-orders (please accept our apologies that this is happening a day later than usual this week). Pre-orders will start shipping Wednesday morning and once all pre-orders have left the shop we will add the remaining stock to the website.

Once this week is done and everything is back to normal we will turn our focus back to our Essen preparations and will add more pre-orders to our Essen section on the website. If you have spotted something interesting and you are not sure if we will get it, just send us a short message and we will see what we can do for you!

Delivery Tuesday

As always Tuesday is the day when we get the week’s new releases delivered.

This week it have been only three so far:

Later in the week, we are also expecting Star Wars: Imperial Assault – Tyrants of Lothal and Taj Mahal (2018).

But more interesting than the new releases are the restocks:

Great Western Trail: Rails to the North delayed?

Great Western Trail: Rails to the North was expected to be available at Gencon. According to Eric Martin (Boardgamegeek News) this is no longer the case:

Our German supplier still lists the expansion as an August release, but I didn’t had the chance to talk to him about this. I will post an update as soon as I know more.

April Top 5

Thanks to the Easter holidays April is always one of the quieter months of the year for us. But we still had some interesting games coming in and new pre-orders going live. So here is a quick look at our Top 5 in sales and pre-orders:

Top 5 Sales:

1) Azul
2) City of Kings
3) Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle
4) Escape the Dark Castle
5) Port Royal: The Adventure begins

With Azul being back in stock for the first time since December it’s no wonder that the restock took the top spot. Hogwarts Battle is a steady seller thanks to good reviews and lots of Potter fans out there. And Adventure begins, the campaign expansion sneaked in at the end of the month and just made it into our Top 5.

Top 5 Pre-Orders

1) Gloomhaven: Forgotten Circles
2) The Sands of Time
3) Dragon Castle
4) Roll Player: Monsters & Minions
5) Great Western Trail: Rails to the North (German Edition)

The Pre-Orders Top 5 is dominated by expansions for three of the biggest hits of the last year.  Forgotten Circles will not be available before November, but already had a rush of orders coming in for it. Monsters & Minions brings new elements into an already very good game and Rails to the North is perfect for everyone who wants to make the Great Western Trail even bigger.
