Stock Update (11/06/20)

It’s nearly the end of the week, but today we have received three deliveries to get some new games in and also to prepare for the shop re-opening on Monday.

Planet X

Four new games are now in stock:

And we also had some restocks:

Unboxing: My City and Jubako

With the lockdown continuing and the shop still closed, our customers can’t come to the shop to have a look at the new games coming in. To help with this situation, I’ve set up my camera (aka my phone on a tripod) and opened two new games (My City and Jubako) from Germany for you:

This is my first try, so there is room for improvement technology-and content-wise. Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Horrified and Folded Space

On Tuesday we posted about Horrified and that we are expecting it to arrive next week. Surprise, surprise: it is already here.

We also received a restock of the base game for Disney Villainous, the two smaller expansions/two-player games and Jaws.

And for all the fans of the Folded Space inserts, we have to brand new inserts: one for Quacks of Quedlinburg and one for Underwater Cities.

To continue with Ravensburger Spiele them from yesterday: We have more good news! It took a bit longer than expected, but next week Horrified will finally arrive.

The stakes have been raised. Imagine living in a place so wretched that it’s not plagued by one, two, or even three monsters — but seven of the most horrifying fiends!
In this game, you’ll come face to face with them all as you work together to rid the town of the maniacal or misunderstood creatures…before it’s too late.
Horrified includes high-quality sculpted miniatures (Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, Dracula, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon). Its innovative, easy-to-learn, cooperative gameplay has players working together against the monsters with varying levels of difficulty. Just as each monster is unique, they require different strategies and tactics to be defeated.

If you would like to have a closer look at how the game is played, Rodney Smith from Watch it played has you covered:

Two new games from Ravensburger

Ravensburger has announced two new board games at the New York Toy Fair.

The Amazons, a powerful tribe of warriors, have lived in peace for centuries on the tranquil island of Themyscira. That peace is shattered when their enemies invade. Now it’s up to you to defend your home!
In the co-operative game Wonder Woman: Challenge of the Amazons, you’ll strategize together, face your foes on the battlefield, and rise to meet the challenge!

The Wonder Woman has a US-release date of 1st of March, but I don’t know yet if and when the game will become available in the UK. but because the US date is so close, there is already a How to play-video available:

Dominate the Marvel universe as an iconic comic book villain! Each villain follows a unique path to victory; each uses different abilities to face other villains and mighty heroes from across the universe.

In Marvel Villainous: Infinite Power, players move their villains to different locations within their domain, carry out the actions there, and deal twists of fate to their opponents from a shared fate deck. Three different game modes allow players to scale the difficulty of their game by facing more or fewer events — situations that extract a heavy toll on villains until they are resolved the only way villains know how. Specialty cards add to each villain’s ability, making them even more formidable as more specialty cards are played. With beginner and advance options, this game is an adventure for the whole family!

Marvel Villainous: Infinite Power’s ETA is August 2020, but again so far it has only been confirmed for the USA.

Minecraft board game announced

Ravensburger has announced Minecraft: Builders & Biomes, a board game based on the popular videogame Minecraft.

Box cover

As in the original Minecraft digital game, in Minecraft: Builders & Biomes players explore the Overworld, build structures, and mine resources, earning points for structures and the largest connected biomes of forest, desert, mountain, or snowy tundra spaces on their player boards.
Familiar foes like Endermen, Creepers, and other mobs also appear throughout the game, and they need to be defeated using weapons collected from the board. Defeating mobs earn players points in addition to granting additional awards. Game scoring occurs as the resource cube’s layers are depleted. As soon as the third layer runs out, the adventure comes to an end, and the builder with the most points wins.

The game is expected to get released sometime in October (more likely late October because of Essen).
