Buried under new Games

We have been a bit quiet in the last couple of days, but we had a reason for it: we have been buried under a flood of new games. So far we have received 16 new games/expansions with the two biggest hits (Marvel Champions and Tapestry / both Friday) still coming.

Here a quick look at what we have got so far:

They barely fit all on one photo…

If you had a pre-order in place for any of these or for Marvel Champions or Tapestry and haven’t received your payment request yet: please check your spam folder.

Unmatched available to pre-order

Restoration Games is known for reviving classic games. Their newest project is Unmatched, based on Star Wars: Epic Duels.

Box Cover

Unmatched is a highly asymmetrical miniature fighting game for two or four players. Each hero is represented by a unique deck designed to evoke their style and legend. Tactical movement and no-luck combat resolution create a unique play experience that rewards expertise, but just when you’ve mastered one set, new heroes arrive to provide all new match-ups.

The game is expected to get released sometime in August. If you would like to know more about the game, the Watch it played-video is already available:

Unmatched coming from Restoration Games

Restoration Games has announced a partnership with Mondo to publish Unmatched, a new game series based Star Wars: Epic Duels (2002) and designed by Rob Daviau, JR Honeycutt, and Justin D. Jacobson.

Unmatched Cover

Unmatched is a miniatures dueling game featuring fighters of all kinds – from the page to the screen to the stuff of legends. Each hero has a unique deck of cards that fits their fighting style. You can mix and match fighters from any Unmatched set. But remember, in the end, there can only be one winner.

The game will start with two sets: Unmatched: Battle of Legends – Volume One (2-4 players) and Unmatched: Robin Hood vs. Bigfoot (2-player set). The two sets should be available in Fall 2019.

Week 48: What has happened?

Last week was crazy busy, so not much time for updates here in the blog. But now with the weekend in sight there is time for a look back what has happened/arrived this week.

New arrivals this week included:

What was released this week?

Here is a quick look at what has arrived since we came back from Tabletop Gaming Live:

The week ahead

We are back from the Tabletop Gaming Live show in London. Today’s tasks are:

  • unloading the van
  • put the remaining stock back in our storeroom and update the online stock
  • sort through the bookkeeping for the weekend

Once all this is done we will activate the checkout for the online shop again.

Tomorrow we will get our usual delivery of new UK releases. This week it is a big one including the following games and expansions:

  • Welcome To Your Perfect Home
  • Renegade Booster Pack: Fire & Chaos
  • The Lady and the Tiger
  • Heroes of the Pacific
  • Heroes of the Nam
  • Heroes of the Motherland
  • Day of Heroes
  • Cryptid
  • The Lost Expedition: Fountain of Youth and Other Adventures
  • Coimbra
  • Reef
  • Dinosaur Tea Party
  • Brass Birmingham

Some of these games are not online yet, but we will try our best to add them to the website tomorrow morning before the delivery arrives. Once the delivery has arrived, we will check everything and start sending out the payment requests for all pre-orders (please accept our apologies that this is happening a day later than usual this week). Pre-orders will start shipping Wednesday morning and once all pre-orders have left the shop we will add the remaining stock to the website.

Once this week is done and everything is back to normal we will turn our focus back to our Essen preparations and will add more pre-orders to our Essen section on the website. If you have spotted something interesting and you are not sure if we will get it, just send us a short message and we will see what we can do for you!

Top 5 August

August is the month of the school holidays, which is normally the time when we sell more family games and smaller games good for taking on a holiday.

This explains the two top games of our Top 5 in sales for August:

1) Ganz schön clever
2) Azul
3) Terraforming Mars: Prelude
4) Downforce: Danger Circuit
5) Skies Above the Reich

In our Top 5 Pre-Orders you can already spot two announced Essen releases. For September I expect the Essen releases to take over the Pre-Order Top 5.

It’s a great time of the year for board game fans: We still get a flood of games that have been presented at GenCon but haven’t made their way to Europe yet and we are starting to see the first Essen announcements popping up.

We have added a few new games to our pre-order section, here are a few highlights:
