Description
Innovation Third Edition is a new packaging for the base set of Innovation. It features allnew card illustrations, graphical design, and game balance updates.
Innovation is a civilization-building card game by the designer of Glory to Rome, Carl Chudyk. It contains 105 cards organized into 10 progressing ages, each representing a different idea, technology, or innovation throughout history. Every card has a unique ability, leading to interesting combos, interactions, and diversified play experiences across multiple games. It is built on simple base mechanics, with the complexity deriving from the wide variety of game text on the cards. It won the 2010 Golden Geek Award for Best Card Game, awarded by BoardGameGeek.

Geoff Byers –
A kind of mad scramble through the ages of humanity in terms of inventions, Innovation is very difficult to predict how things will go, as each card has different effects, and each player can develop radically different tableaus, and as a result it can be very challenging to keep track of what other players are doing. There is never a perfect strategy, but while some players feel isolated by this (keeping track of your own tableau can be challenging enough), I like how radically different each game can be in how things play out for each player. It almost has the same feeling as Terraforming Mars in terms of there being a massive grab-bag of cards, but here they are at least separated into different ages for slightly more coherent play.
