Description

In Into the Blue (designed by Reiner Knizia) you take on the role of a team of divers who are seeking mysterious treasures hidden underwater. But you are not the only one who wants to grab these sunken wonders… Explore the depths and try to bring back the most precious items to the surface. Mark your presence in the different areas to control them and claim their riches.

Players take turns rolling the dice in order to create sequences of numbers that allow them to place their shells on the various diving depth levels. The goal is to control over as many levels as possible. A perfect dive will allow you to claim the most beautiful treasures, but take too many risks and you might come back empty-handed!

The game ends when players place their last shell on the board or when the last Chest is retrieved.

Treasure tokens are distributed among the players (player with the most shells on one of the levels receives the Main Treasure token for that level, player with the second most shells on that same level receives the Secondary Treasure token). When all Treasure tokens have been distributed, each player sums their values. The player with the highest total will be the winner.

Good as an intro game for non gamers or for family. On a turn roll 6 dice, have 3 goes as in Yahtzee however all you are interested in is a straight starting at 1. Get a straight of 6 and collect a “treasure” (VP’s) from the bottom of the board otherwise place player tokens on one level for area control in the 5 other zones at the end of the game. There is minimal downtime as you just roll dice and make a decision, I do like the playing pieces which are nice brightly coloured shells.
