Description
Vampire The Masquerade Vendetta (designed by Charlie Cleveland and Bruno Faidutti) is a game of area control, bluff and treachery in which you scheme and fight for influence and power as immortal vampires! Play cards and blood to earn the control of influential humans, feed on them, and make them your servants; your goal is to gain the most influence over three ages. You draft cards at the beginning of the game, then gradually draw an increasing number of cards from your deck at the beginning of each age (i.e., all the cards you had during the previous age, plus new ones).
While playing Vampire The Masquerade Vendetta, you get to know the powers and abilities of your opponents during your centuries-long struggle, but they do the same with you — and you can never know which new tricks they may have added to their arsenal since your last encounter!

Asymetric majority control game. I liked this game, the factions are all very different and require quite a different playstyle to be successful. It’s also one of those games where you feel very much as though you’re playing the players, rather than the game. The basic game mechanics are very simple but there is a decent learning curve and an element of playing the man not the ball which keeps the game interesting. Unlike other asymmetric games of this style there is a very small pool of cards for each faction so it’s realistic that after a few plays you can have an idea what to expect. Play time is short even with a teach and it’s a fun and accessible game which is easy to get to the table. 5 stars might be slightly overhyped, I don’t know for sure as I haven’t played it enough, but I think it’s a good fun use of the time it takes to play the game so I committed to the higher rating.
