Have you ever fantasised about leading a mighty army? Have you read a captivating historical novel about Ancient Rome and wished you could transport yourself to that era during a fierce battle? Would you fancy the opportunity to alter History or experience thrilling historical moments firsthand? If any of these questions resonate with you, then this game is precisely what you seek.

ONUS! Traianus is a tactical warfare simulation, comparable to a miniatures-based game, where opposing forces clash in Ancient combat scenarios. The game centres on the military forces of the dominant empires during the Roman Empire's golden age, specifically during the reigns of emperors Trajan and Hadrian, spanning the 1st and 2nd centuries AD. The game utilises various action cards to simulate different battle commands and warfare scenarios, ensuring each match remains distinctive and every confrontation becomes memorable, surprising and thrilling. Whilst ONUS! can be played in any setting, for optimal gameplay experience, we suggest a playing surface of approximately 3.2 x 2.9 feet (100 x 90 cm).

Military units are depicted through cards scaled to represent either a Centuria (Century) or a Maniple (Manipulus), comprising formations of 80 to 100 soldiers for Infantry units, 20 mounted warriors for Cavalry units, or 6 Elephants. Each unit possesses distinct characteristics representing their permanent attributes, including Melee Combat, Range Attack, Defensive capability, Morale and Life, and Movement ability. These attributes receive enhancements and reductions based on battlefield conditions and combat situations. Units also possess distinctive abilities representing their specialised capabilities: ranging from defensive formations to highly effective offensive manoeuvres. Whilst some abilities require activation, meaning only one can be employed during an engagement, others are fundamental to the units.

Command structure is embodied through the General's role. A General's marker signifies their headquarters and personal guard. Beyond leadership advantages, a General provides enhancements to units within proximity, strengthening troop morale and delivering additional advantages when forces engage in intense combat encounters.
