Aliens have arrived to conquer Earth. Enemy ships fill the skies. Humanity retreats to underground bunkers located below cities across the globe. Stand against the common threat! Fight the invaders city by city. Build a team from around the globe to save your planet and defeat the aliens!

The Under Falling Skies board game is a solo game with a multi-mission campaign. In each mission, you take charge of defending a besieged city.

Your actions are powered by an innovative dice placement mechanic. When you choose an action, you are also choosing which enemy ships will descend. Bigger numbers give better effects, but they also cause ships to descend faster.

Expand your underground base to gain access to more powerful actions, allowing you to shoot down enemy ships or deploy robots to increase your workforce, but don’t forget to work on your research and watch your energy supply.

The mothership draws closer every round, ratcheting up the tension.

Can you complete your mission before your base is destroyed?

An excellent solo game with great replay value and depth. The double sided boards are laid out in a row with your base board (several choices) placed at the bottom these choices give you a lot of different set-ups with differing levels of difficulty. There are 2 scales one is the life force of your base the second is the “Intelligence” gained on the alien invasion, goal of the game is to complete the “Intelligence” scale before your base is destroyed. On a turn you roll 5 dice and place them in your base on the actions you want to do for the turn (shoot incoming aliens, gain energy, gain “intelligence”, increase base size (gaining better abilities) , or activate robots (advanced level) – the brain-burner is that you have 5 columns in your base and you may place only 1 die in any column also many of the actions require 2 dice eliminating the ability to do other actions. The pip value of any die is the strength given to that ability but also how fast the incoming alien ships approach your base in that same column, your base gets 1 damage for each alien that reaches it. To add to the pressure at the end of each turn the Mother-Ship takes a step nearer your base not only shortening the distance for the attacking alien ships but also triggering end of round events and if that was not enough the attacking alien ships may also land on “trigger” spaces. There is even more to the game than I have given above but this is the flavour of how it works and it does work brilliantly. I have rated it 8.5 on BGG and it is very deserving of this, there is a lot of game in the box.
